In a chaotic scene, Howrah Railway Station witnessed a fierce altercation as hawkers clashed with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) while protesting against alleged obstruction to their vending activities within the station premises.
The commotion unfolded during the evening rush hour when passengers, returning from work, arrived at the station to catch their trains.
The hawkers claimed that their vending was being obstructed, leading to their protest within the station's premises. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel intervened to disperse the protesting hawkers, resulting in a physical confrontation between the two groups.
Accusations have arisen, suggesting that the RPF resorted to baton charges during the altercation.
